From the mid 90’s Age has been teaching at the Rotterdam Conservatory [link]. From 2000 he is a member of the Pop Department of this institute (Rotterdam Pop Academy). During the past years Age has developed his own teaching method, using backing tracks that are specially made in his studio for this purpose. This method covers about every melodic and harmonic issue that is used in Pop Music. Starting with scales like dorian or ionian, we end up improvising with even the alterated scale. Using the backing tracks creates an atmosphere like a jam or a studio session, which makes it a lot more fun to study. Some examples of these backing tracks can be found in my SoundCloud players.
